Moving an older computer to an SSD
A mechanical hard drive is often the slowest part of an older computer, and replacing it with an SSD usually makes everyday work faster. The result depends on the device, the condition of the system and compatibility.
What we do
We transfer your system, programs and files to the new drive. The method depends on the source drive, the new drive and the condition of the system. We fit the drive and check the result and that the machine starts.
What the price covers
£90 covers the labour for up to 1 TB of data (£110 up to 2 TB, £140 up to 4 TB): transfer, fitting and testing. The SSD itself is not included — we can supply the right drive for your machine and quote for it separately, or fit one you have already bought. We check compatibility for your exact model — send us the model or serial number before ordering. We do not replace soldered storage.
How long it takes
Most jobs are done the same day. Very full drives take longer to clone, and we will tell you in advance if that applies to yours.
No VAT is charged — we are not VAT-registered. If we become VAT-registered, VAT at the applicable rate will be added from that date.
