Data Copy & Archive: computers, servers and NAS

Data copy and archive service in London: a checked copy of your files on your own drives — before you replace an old server, NAS or office computer, or put the device into storage.

We collect the device, check its condition, copy the files and folders to the drives you choose, check the copy against the original and return everything with a short written report. When copying we only read the source data: we do not change or delete your files and folders.

What is included

  • Collection and return of the device in Havering, Romford and east London (RM, IG and E postcodes)
  • A check of the device and its drives before copying, including RAID status and disk errors, with photos
  • Copying of files and folders
  • A check of the copy against the original
  • One copy or, at extra cost, two copies on separate drives
  • A short written report: amount of data copied, number of files, a list of files that could not be copied, and photos

Prices

  • Up to 2 TB of data: £245; second copy — £75 extra
  • Up to 6 TB of data: £395; second copy — £100 extra
  • More than 6 TB: priced individually

Drives are paid for separately. You can provide your own or buy them from us at cost.

Collection from the rest of London inside the M25: £50 extra. Beyond the M25: by arrangement.

No VAT is charged: we are not VAT-registered. If we become VAT-registered, VAT at the applicable rate will be added from that date.

How it works

  1. You tell us about the device and roughly how much data it holds — we confirm the price.
  2. We collect the device and the drives for copying and agree the return date with you.
  3. We check the device, copy the data and check the copy against the original.
  4. We return the device, the drives with the copies and the report.

What is not included

  • Copying data from cloud services — Egnyte, OneDrive, Google Drive and similar. We copy only data stored entirely on the device itself.
  • Recovering data from failing or damaged drives — that is our Data Recovery service.
  • Creating a bootable clone of the whole system — that is our Hard Drive Cloning service.

Questions

Will you change anything on my device?

We do not change or delete your files and folders, install software or run updates. If the operating system has to be started to access the data, it may write system logs and other service data.

Do you keep a copy of my data?

No. We copy data only to the drives we return to you and keep no copies ourselves.

I need to move my computer's system and files to a new drive

That is our Hard Drive Cloning service — from £75.
