Syncthing File Sync Setup

Files that keep themselves in step

Syncthing keeps chosen folders identical across machines — a workshop PC, a laptop, a server in the office — continuously and directly between your own devices. There is no cloud account in the middle, no per-user fee, and the files never leave hardware you control.

What we do

We pair the machines, choose which folders travel and which stay put, set send-only or receive-only where a folder must not be edited in two places, turn on file versioning so an overwritten drawing can be recovered, and check the whole thing over a real working week rather than declaring it done on the day.

What it is not

It is not a backup. A file deleted on one machine disappears on the others within seconds, which is exactly what synchronisation is supposed to do. We set it up alongside a proper backup with tested restores, never instead of one — and if you do not have that backup yet, we will say so before taking the job.
