VPS Setup & Migration

A one-off job that saves a lot of trouble later

We provision your Linux VPS properly and move what you already have onto it: websites, databases, mailboxes and files. The aim is a server that is secure on the day it goes live, not one that is tidied up after the first incident.

What we do

Operating system installation and hardening, firewall rules, SSH key authentication with password login disabled, automatic security updates, SSL certificates with automatic renewal, web or mail services as required, monitoring, and a backup that we restore once to prove it works.

Migration without a long outage

We copy your data to the new server first, test everything on it while the old one is still live, lower the DNS records ahead of the switch, and only then move the traffic across. Mail is moved with the archives intact.

The VPS itself

£75 covers the setup work. The monthly cost of the server is separate — see our Managed VPS plans, or we can work on a VPS you already have with any provider.
